Question New here and have some questions.

Just bought a 01 Chevy Blazer 4 door 4x4. When I hit the door lock all the doors unlocked/lock except for the driver door lock. What is going on there and is it an easy fix. Second, looking in the back on the right side I took off the cover and at first I thought it was a multi cd player but I don't no what the heck it is. And last there is an antenee on the passenger back side glass what is that for? I was thinking a hands free cell phone. If so how can I hook that up or is it worth hooking up now. Thanks for your time. I'm enjoying the site so far.

My drivers door did the same thing... you need to lubricate the lock mechanisms inside the door.
Not sure about the other two things... they don't sound like stock items to me.

Thanks, When you say there not stock items could they have been something optional? Or do you think someone installed it them selves?

The antenna is someone's add on, don't really know what the other thing is that you are describing.

Does your truck have a outside (weather temperture guage? or a dierection guage (north, east etc.) If so the antenna might be for tht. And the box ( im takeing a guess) but maybe an amp of somesort. maybe factory idk i know in my 1992 blazer when you first bought it you had the option of a factory amp.

My truck has the temp guage/compass, but it doesn't use an antenna for that. I think you're right about it being a cell phone antenna, but I've never had to mess with one so I have no clue on how they're set up. I would think there would be a wire you could trace or some sort of mount up front you could play with. I dunno. As far as that box you're talking about, there's really no way for us to know unless you show us a picture.

The silver box you described is the computer for the onstar system that is equipped on your truck. The antenna is also part of this system.

Thanks for all of your help!!! That's got to be what its for is Onstar. So onstar went digital so the box is pretty much of no use now. Am I right?
