Default new timing chain ?

I have 120000 miles on my 2000 blazer Ls and was told I should get a new timing chain if I want it to last. Is this guy full of it ? or is he correct.

These engines do not have the fiber timing belt that needs to be replaced every 60000 miles like the overhead cam motors do. I don't know how long they live, but I have 190+k on mine with no problem. I have been on this forum several years and you are the first person I have seen ask about it, so they must be solid. But if I was going to replace my water pump I would do the timing chain also.
