I have been having a few problems with my blazer. Main problem is not starting. would start in morning to go to work. When start at lunchtime would have problems starting. It cranks but takes forever before turning over and starting. Once it does WAS running good. Once turned off and would have trouble starting again.
Was told by two mechanics without any diagnostics that sounded like VCM was giving out and would work intermittenly. Suggested I get a new one.
With that in mind when car would not start I would disconnect negative cable of battery and wait about 5 min. connect back up and would start no problem. Disconnect battery, wait and would start up So sounded like VCM reseting itself, so was sure that must be problem.
This morning went to dealer with VCM to exchange was told would be better to come with in car and can reprogram it when switching out. So puchased new VCM, was programmed by hooking up to OBDII to read old info on VCM. Was told to put new VCM in (I also transfered PROM) and reprogramed new VCM agian through OBDII hookup. All while at the dealers in front of parts dept with me standing there and I did all the switchout of both VCM's.
NOW Car does not start and now will not start no matter what. Looked through some of the post and was never told about turning key on or off before starting or anything of the sort for it to be learned. Could there have been a problem with the programming? although they said it was good. Why would it not start now when it would with the old VCM if they took the info from the old one. ANY SUGGESTIONS
