Default Newb 4X4 question

Alright, I am new to these Blazers and need a little insight. Before anyone says "use the search", I already did and didn't find what I was looking for.

Here's the situation... My wife has a 2000 Blazer and when we hit any of the 4x4 buttons ( 4 auto, 4hi, and 4lo) the lights just blink. When I have it in neutral and hit the 4lo button I can hear and feel it engage and it is working, but the light still blinks. Whenever I hit the other two buttons they blink but I cannot hear or feel the TC engage. Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Jeff

Jeff,
From your description it sounds like the TC is working, but the front axle vacuum actuator is not. Check the vacuum lines under the hood, driver's side just in front of the firewall. Then follow the line that goes to the vacuum switch that is centered on the firewall...and then the line that goes under the battery to the actuator that engages the front axle.

Probably will have to remove the battery and then the battery tray to check-out the actuator condition.

One of these will probably fix the problem.

Good luck.

Thank you very much!! I figured it was probably something vacuum related, just didn't know where it was and what to look for.

I really appreciate it!!

Found the problem and fixed it. When we did the motor swap I didn't notice that the vacuum hose from the check valve on the drivers side to the top of the manifold was missing. I really am a newb when it comes to these Blazers. lol Anyhow, I went to the parts store and bought a few feet off hose for less than $2, put the hose on, and now everything works properly. Thanks for the suggestions guys!!!
