Default No Fuel

I have a 2000 Blazer 4X4. Last week after filling the gas tank, the truck failed to start. It seemed that thetruck had run out of gas. I had it towed home and began to trouble shoot the problem. I shot a little starter fluid in to the throttle body and the truck turned over. I figure the fuel pump went out. I also could not hear the humming of the pump. The vehicle sat for two days when I decided to drop the gas tank. Before I started, I tried to turn it on and it started. The truck ran for three days and I put about 150 more miles on it. Today, the truck did the same thing and would not start and there was no fuel pump humming.
Does this seem like a fuel pump problem or might it be some other problem.

Real good chance that the pump is on its way out. I have posted the test procedure in quite a few threads. Check it and let us know what you find.

Does the security light happen to flash if you try to crank it, let it die, then leave the key in and wait for a sec? Could be a bad ignition switch?

I had two fuel pumps go on my blazer within 2 weeks of one another. (It wasn't a happy time...)
Anywho, it really does sound like its the fuel pump. Call me crazy, but do what I did to get it home the first time, take the cover off the protective cover off the gas tank, and bang on the center of your tank. If it then starts, after hitting the center of the tank a few times, its a bad pump. However even if that doesn't work, your more than likely dealing with a bad pump. If it does work, you fixed your truck? No, not really, but seriously its your pump. Especially if you don't hear it running. Mine is loud enough you hear it when its powering on.

I've been running the truck for a few days in town and it died on me again. The same thing happened: no fuel pump soundand the engine does turn over. There is no security light on, only the service engine light comes on. Nolights when the truck starts. I towed the truck home and a few days later, the truck started with no problems. I checked the relay and the fuse, they both are in working order. I swapped the relay with my wifes trail blazer. I think it is the fuel pump, but not sure if it because it works intermittenly. Is the fuel pump like a starter, where it might get a good hook and start. Giving a sense that a replacement will be needed? Or when it goes out it out completly?

A bad fuel pump may die, and work, a failing part can be unpredictable. I remember I was on my way to school when mine died, I pulled it to the side, and tried to get it to start, after 15mins it started fine. Died 1 mile from my school, on a 3 lane highway, center lane morining rush hour. There are two points I'm trying to make here. A. Its very dangerous to drive it like that. B. A failing fuel pump may work, and may not work at times, a failing part is unpredictable. When it dies, climb under your truck, and have someone turn the key to the power on position (not crank) and see if you hear it powering on. I'm willing to bet its the pump.
