Default no idea where to post this. help please!!

welll... i've been driving around looking for a rent house. and i stopped to read a paper and call a few people and while sitting, i noticed my blazer running a lil warm. like two of the small lines over 210. figured it was from the heat, no movement and ac not running. never went higher than that. well, today, while sitting, watching a video, it started to climb again to that region. i noticed my oil pressure was constantly fluctuating. it was the big line between 0 and 40. so i guess 20. i know thats lower than normal, but it'd fluctuate about one line. constantly just bouncing. while sitting, my foot was off the brake, blazer in park, my abs light turned on for like 10 seconds then cut off. at the same time, my blazer started running warm, and my pressure dropped a lil lower than normal. i'm about 3000 miles under my oil change (pushing 5000 miles, 1000 going to 3000), but about 4 months into it. its royal purple thats in it. any ideas? time for an oil change? thanks!

well the oil pressure changes as your ride heats up. i have a mech aftermarket oil gauge and can see how the pressure drops as the engine heats up.
if you continue to see the temp rise check you coolant levels. also the thermostat could be sticking, on its way out.
the abs light, not sure how it would be affected by the oil and or temp at all...not a related system at all.

I thought the same thing. My oil pressure was always higher than that when i first got it. I guess maybe it was all gunked up and the oil's just cleaning it good. The high temps, i think my fan clutch it going out. Havent seen another abs light though. Think ima go ahead and change the oil just go be sure. Get that royal purple outta there. Ive developed a small oil leak at the back. Either oil pan gasket, or rear main. Idk. But that oil is BLACK and the oil on the dipstick is only a few shades lighter. Thanks for the reply!!!

Oh!! I just put a new thermostat in it. Im going to have to see about it though. I know they do have defected ones.

-Check coolant level when the truck cools off. Creeping temp at idle is commonly just low coolant.
-Maybe the fan clutch isnt locking, however they usually with my experiance do the opposite when they fail.
-The water pump may not circulating good.
-Or a clog in the radiator.

Usually a failed thermostat either keeps your temps really low or over heats quickly. Anything is possible, i can only say what is probable. As far as oil pressure, went its cold its thinker, therefor doesnt flow as good and causes a higher pressure reading. The warmer it gets the thinner it gets and the easier it flows so the pressure drops. At idle the 4.3 can safely run off of 5 psi of oil pressure

Awesome! Thanks!! Ill check the coolant and make sure its all good. I went ahead and changed the oil. Pressure seems more consistent now. I know its thicker colder and hotter, just never seen it that low. Oil was BLACK! So it was time to change it. Thermostat and water pump are both new. But i know they can just go bad. Haha.
