Default no spark

Hi, I have a 98 GMC Jimmy, 4.3L v6. Got done swapping out the intake manafold gaskets, got everything put back together and my friend put the jumper cables on wrong. Now it has no spark, the engine turns over just not getting any spark. Any help on what it could be would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I would look for blown fuses. How long were the jumper cables hooked up incorrectly?

They were hooked up for about 30 seconds before i noticed the negative cable smoking a little. I've checked all fuses, then tried replacing the coil thinking that may have been it. Also tried a code reader but I'm not sure if the car has to be running, cause its not throwing any codes.

It is possible that you have fried something in the PCM. You could remove the ICM and have it tested.

Where would be the best place to get it tested, like shucks or napa maybe?

You can ask. I am fairly sure that most Autozone and Advance Auto stores have the capability. Not sure about Napa or Shucks.
