no throttle power, bad MPG, missfire, worse in wet weather

no throttle power, bad MPG, missfire, it gets worse in wet humid weather.
going to try a basic tuneup, plugs, wires, filters, oil, O2 sensors,, distrib cap.

Specs; 97 blazer v6.

Edit: ODB reports multiple misfires on several cylenders, O2 sensors fail, and several other misc codes.
going to have that checked & cleared as well today.

a while back, i think a head gasket might of failed a bit :) i put some prestone grit in to clog it up, antifreeze levels not going down anymore, but possible the cat convertr may be clogged a bit from antifreeze...

also; recently had igntion relay prob, still in progress... fuel gauge flickers when turn signal is on, wondering if that power wire (pink) may be under voltage, apparently this wire powers the ignition as well, so ill check that too.

ill post results after tune up.

Just be sure to not waste your time & money on non-Delco cap and rotor, they just will not work for very long.

changed the plugs, wires, roter & distrib cap, changed oil,
just made it everything worse... bummed out...

what kind idiot puts electronics in place of mechanics? stupid @#%^ Chevy,
it may as well be a ford..!
Well, got that out of my system HA!

It might cheaper just to buy a $500 car, that already runs, then stuff a regular V8 in it later?

richphotos Feb 3, 2013 02:22 PM

what brand plugs, wires rotor, and distrib did you put in?

Scarakus Feb 4, 2013 05:43 AM

it was napa brand

i dunno, maybe something to do with the fuel too, havent messed with that yet.

might of messed up a vacume line somewhere among the 100's of them, reaching in there.

cars dont/shouldnt need electronics to run, they ran fine for a 100 years without it.
its just a money scam these days, if they built cars to last, car companies would be out of buisness in 10 years.

it seems the fuel pump only has 10lbs pressure....
