oil pressure
ok so I got a free blazer, alarm was tripped when I moved it to my shop. We took out the alarm and auto car starter and now it starts.
When I got this truck the oil filter had blown out seal and the guy did not want to deal with it. We took all the alarm out and it fired right up but the oil pressure guage was high. This morning the mechanic was going to put it in the shop to check and see if the stock oil guage was working right and when he was moving it the pressure popped another oil filter seal so it does have way too much pressure. What can cause a major increase of oil pressure? I got a spare motor but am curious if I can change the oil pump or it's something else? we looked over the truck and it's in great shape. |
no one got any info on this? having too much oil pressure?

This might have something to do with it ;) The oil pressure releif valve is in the engine block. The oil filter adapter at the left rear of the engine must be removed to access it. the oil bypass valve is under the oil filter cooler adapter, No need to remove the oil pan. I am sure that Captain Hook could clear it up be he doesn't get on here very much anymore.
