P0128 Help
Its located on top of the engine in front of the intake. The housing that you remove to access it is black (at least on my 2000 it is). You have to drain a little (About 2 quarts) antifreeze out of the radiator so you don't spill it when you remove the housing. To get to the housing bolts, I found that removing the throttle cable brackets made it a lot simpler since they are in the way. Once you remove those, it is as simple as removing the housing, removing the old thermostat, putting in the new thermostat, making sure the housing surfaces are clean and then repeat the process backwards.
I was surprised there was no gasket for the housing, but I guess the rubber ring on the thermostat acts as the gasket.

if you replace the thermostat, and top off the coolant level, i would drive it to see if the temp rises to normal opperating temp, if it does you can clear the code by taking the negetive battery cable off and reinstalling it.
