Talking P0171 & P0172 Running Lean --- FIXED !!!

I must say, without this forum and the wise men that patrol it I would not be as happy a camper as I am now.

I had these DTCs and could not figure out the problem. The consequence of the problem was the truck had no power at all until the 4k RPM mark, and felt almost as if it was going to stall. I even had trouble going uphill. Thanks to the DIY section, I was able to troubleshoot, buy some tools, remove and clean the MAF and when I took the truck out for a spin after the cleaning it was like I got behind a Ferrari. I did a burnout for the first time! I never was mechanically inclined, but it was so satisfying knowing I got it done myself, and didn't pay a garage to do it.

I never in my wildest dreams imagined the truck had so much power...and all not without the help of blazerforum.com. So I salute you, good men, and I am glad to be a part the forum.

Next step -- buying a torque wrench and cleaning the EGR (gasket too)
