ok so i got the filler neck off without dropping the tank, and i put rtv black and fiberglass tape, the kind for mufflers, around the "hole". im gonna let it dry completely and hit it with AOE (area of affect) fire, not a lot, just enough to simulate a muffler heat to get it to seal. I also wrapped it once in duct tape to hold it down to the rtv, but ill take that off before i blow torch it. Hows that sound? Cuz i really didnt see a hole, but who knows. ill see if my check engine light comes on within a few days of driving it. Figure ill spend $10 vs $400 dealer charge, plus $90 to test it. Hope it works.

ok well check engine light is back on, p0440 now. idk what to do. i replaced the purge vent solenoid, so maybe the purge vent valve? i have a 2dr with the tire mounted on the back, im pretty sure its on top of the gas tank, maybe this will work?? plz let me know, i have about 15 days left on a temp plate and i need to get it emission tested, cant do that til i fix my check engine.

ok so i replaced the purge valve, should i leave my check engine light on or reset it? will it clear itself?
