Default P1870 tranny component emission related

WENT IN AGAIN FOR REINSPECTION. BINGO FAILED AGAIN. went to autozone and scan tool indicated p1870. tran component slipping. tried doing drive cycles to pass inspection but egr, heated o2 and catylist still state not ready. read a post about p1870 being emission related but cant understand why tran component slipping has anything to do with emissions. any thoughts, suggestions about p1870 stored to pcm. thought about removing pos wire off for couple of hours and see if this would remove p1870 code and run up to get reinspection after a drive cycle. just thinking help i need to pass inspection.... since p1870 needs two ignition cycles/ drive cycles to be stored, theoretically i should be able to unhook battery and after some time rehook and head to reinspectiion and go thru drive cycle guidelines to relearn systems and present them a blazer with no stored p1870 code but having som 50 miles put on blazer to get sytems in ready status.......
