Default p1870- transmission error??

What could be the reasons for this code? I noticed my blazer shifting hard coming off of stop lights wen under 2500rpm. I didn't think of anything at the time (my first blazer, 2 months into it)

Is this a common error for blazers? And what things could I do to check this?

The local auto shop guy who coded it for me said that it could be low fluid?

thanks for the help.

This code has been discussed quite a bit in other threads. A quick search for "p1870" turns up many results. If you have further questions after reading through the experiences that others have had, please feel free to ask them here.

Valve body bore out-of-round. Common problem. Fluid pressure solenoid pumps up tranny fluid pressure to compensate. $300.

alright. thanks guys. I just got this so I think I'm in need of a tranny fluid flush and new filter as well. The last owner let it sit every summer and only drove it in the winter.

Maybe skip the flush job. It's a con. Just pan fluid change, and again in 10k.
