I have P235/7515's on my 99 blazer now and i want to buy 4 new ones. They only come in LT. I was told that LT235/75/15's are larger than P235/75/15. Is this true and will the LTS fit?

 

They should be the same size (235mm wide, sidewalk height 75% of width, 15" rim). Primary difference is heavier sidewalks so less tire sway and more load capacity. I have LT's on mine.

 

So the LTS will fit on my rims where they have P's on them now?

 

Yes.

P stands for passenger
LT stands for Light Truck

 

LT is just heavier duty with more cords and belts, which allows for greater load ratings at higher pressures. They will look bigger by a small amount like mentioned above because of the lack of tire sag.

 

whoever told you the tires would be bigger needs to go back to school and re-learn their job. all i'm saying is, how can a tire that has the same numerical size be be different when it is preceeded by a "LT" instead of a "P"? hope you're not gonna buy tires from this guy vrryder...............

Lt tires ride harsher in my opinion I just put a set of p235-75-15 pirelli s orpion atr

 

that's your personal opinion. if you never do anything with your truck-you should've bought a car! relax, i'm only joking.
seriously though hkellogg, if you never tow anything, or load your truck up alot, or do any serious off-roading, then passanger tires ("P" rated) are for you. yes ppl may say they ride harsher/rougher, but it's a truck (with a short WB) and they do tend to ride firmer than a car. it all depends upon the application, 'cause i'm running the same light truck tires ("LT" rated) on by old school 'Burb, and it still rides like a Cadillac, 'cause it has a longer WB.
