Parking brake cables won't adjust together
I have done all new hardware and adjusted inside the rotors correctly for the parking brake. I have loosened the cables, the wheels still turn ok. If I make the star adjusters inside the wheels any tighter and the rotor doesn't go back on. It seems one cable is longer than the other, or something is off with the cables.
I start off so the cables are loose and kept tightening until the one wheel was locked up.( with the parking brake pedal up). I had to turn the adjuster about 40 half turns to get the other side to be locked up. This results in only one wheel's parking brake to be strong enough in an emergency.
Would a mis-matched cable do this? I can't think of a way that they could both be tightened to the same setting the way they are both attached to the same equalizer adjuster. Any other ideas? Would a slightly different cable routing than stock make that much of a difference?
