Noticed that when I engage the parking brake uphill, it won't hold. However, when facing downhill, holds like its supposed to.


Checked shoes, they are good...


Suggestions?

It's a bit involved, but that's the correct way to do it... straight from the GM "dealer issue" shop manual. The first image is upside down, go figure.

My shoes are shot. How hard are they to replace?

 

From what I've seen, they don't look that hard to replace.

 

They are not bad to replace. Quite expensive for what they are. The biggest problem that I have run into before was rotted out backing plates that required replacement prior to installing the new parking brake shoes. That is much more involved.
