Default Parking Brake wont hold on steep down hill.

So the brake works great with lots of force with the nose facing down, but when the rear end is downward, it wont hold. My main concern is at the boat ramp, i use it and it doesn't hold, making it difficult to get back out of park. Is this a drum type system or does it grab the caliper, should i try adjusting it? How is this adjusted.

I believe all second generation Blazers have a small drum braking system behind the disc rotor on the rear axle which acts as an e-brake for these vehicles. You can see it after you have removed the rotor. Once you've done this, you can make any adjustments necessary.

Yup, adjust the drum as you would any drum brake. Discs are standard (I believe) on all 2nd gen rear brakes as well as having the drum brakes inside the discs.
Get the little screwdriver & move the lock pin & adjust the drums as you would for any drums.

ive always been told all my life that e-brakes are not designed to work backwards for some reason. but yeah as others have said its that little drum set up. you may have one that doesnt work or heck could even be missing that maybe why its not holding.

Yea usually if the e brake is drum, it only pushes one of the shoes, alowing it to roll backwards but not forwards, i will try to adjust them at the drum, thanks
