Ive been having a problem with my 99 blazer its the 4.3 4x4 two door. It started with hard starting. When it was cold i would have to sit and let it crank then stop and do that a couple times before it would start. The problem got worse and worse to the point where it wouldnt start at all. I went threw and did the usual checks, spark, compression, and fuel. Everything checked out ok except the fuel. So i replaced the fuel filter and the pump that still didnt fix the problem but when i poured some gas into the intake it would start and stay running it would start just fine after that when it was hot but when it was cold i would have to put gas in the intake to get it started. That eventually stopped working when i was driving and went to press the peddal the rpms would drop and would come back as soon as i let of the peddal untill it just died. So i replaced the fuel preasure regulator and it started but didnt run smooth at all it was missing very bad and eventually stopped working again then when i went to start it it wouldnt even turn over so i ripped in to it again and i found that one of the clips that holds the poppet in had broke off and was no where to be found. So my question is what should i do about this piece of plastic? Could it have stopped the engine from turning over? Another question i have is on the fuel preasure regulator theres a thing that comes off it and looks like a spot to put a vacume hose. Does something attach to this or is it supposed to be left without anything on it. Any help or sugestions would be greatly appreciated im at a loss with it and have spent many hours tryin to figure it out. Thank you.
