I just recently began driving my 2000 S10 blazer 4.3L 6cyl for the first time in 2 years, so it had definitely been sitting for quite some time. So here's the issue... I was in the process of replacing the fuel filter but ran out of time before work so i just left the old one on until the following day (which by the looks of it had not been replaced for years). My gas tank had about a half gallon of fuel when i began driving it to the filling station, it then began popping and puttering as if i was running out of gas. After fillin her up she's still been popping and puttering, shaking erratically at red lights and damn near stalling every time i accelerate from idle. I know its horrible to run on such a low tank and i'm assuming that sediments are more than likely clogged the injectors. Today i removed the fuel spider, injectors and poppets. I've been advised to replace it all rather than try and clean it out or purchase a used injector kit. $315 is the cheapest i've found.
Now i'm having second thoughts as to if my diagnosis is correct because thats a lot of money to spend if it's not the injectors. Whats the likely hood that i'm correct? Any thoughts? Thanks for yall's time!
PS. I've used gas treatment for 2 weeks prior to this issue.

could be a lot of things, clogged filter, vacuum line, old sour gas. Yuo may have jumped the gun also with the injectors. If you do get new inj and can wait for shipping, I just put this one in and it works great at half the price

Hey thanks for the reply and that link! I did replace the fuel filter a few days ago but no improvement was made so thats when i decided to open her up. All this started happening immediately after i initially began messing around with the old filter, never was an issue before that. kinda why i jumped to conclusion i guess.

I would start by testing the fuel pressure and do a leakdown test. That will help determine if you have an injector problem. Also clean the maf sensor, do basic tune up.

Yeah man, test the pressure first. The injectors dont really go bad that often, its usualy the hoses or "nut kit" that os to blame. So spend 40 bones on a fuel injection pressure tester before buying any parts..
