poor performance solved!!
Just wanted to share my experience with the MAF sensor.
The last six months my blazer`s performance has been really poor, and it went from bad to worse! I did the plugs, rotor, distributor cover, air filter and fuel filter, but nothing changed. I experienced the problems after the startup. It always started fine, and idled well, but when putting it i D it wouldnt pick up speed for the first 150 mtrs. When driving at the freeway it ran somewhat rough, but barely noticeble. Passing a car could be a nightmare as when trying to do a kickdown, nothing happend for a couple of seconds. I was suspecting the fuelpump to be worn out as it acted as the fuel pressure was low. I asked the previous owner if he had changed the fuelpump, and he did a year ago. The workshop charged 9600Nkr... about 1580 dollars for a new one! First asking around 2000 dollars!
Then I found one of the DIY articles here on the forum about MAF sensor cleaning. Half`n hour later the car ran like new!!!
So, I just wanted to thank all you out there for the help provided in this forum!!! Keep up the good work guys and gals, and keep thoose blazer`s running!!

Yes, the MAF sensor is too often overlooked as a maintenance item. I cleaned mine last week and though it was not very dirty, I noticed an improvement in both idle and acceleration.
