Post Me A Picture - Oil Lines
Using the OEM GM parts websites is a great resource for these exploded diagrams and for cross referencing part numbers.
I had the o-ring (#2) for the oil filter adapter go on my old 92. It did not damage the motor but I lost a lot of oil the few miles to the shop to have it fixed. (I did not have a garage at the time).
Whenever the oil lines are replaced, I suggest the o-ring (#2) and the gasket (#1) for the adapter be replaced too.
A trick I adapted from the hot-rod motor builders was to use a dab of Vaseline to hold the gasket in place during the reassembly. Apparently people will pack a new oil-pump with Vaseline to prime it when part of a motor rebuild.
