Default Pulling a bumper back out

Rear ended a U-haul at 5mph. Pushed in my driver side bumper enough so the valence is getting chewed up by the tire. Looking for ideas to bend it back, maybe two inches.

Darn.

I wonder if you can loosen the brackets for it and slide it foward. If not, put a piece of wood against it, and hit it foward with a mini sledge

I've looked but the bolts seem to be in the right places. I concluded the bumper itself is bent even though that would mean pretty weak bumper.

I don't think I can get the leverage to hammer it out but IIDK what I can thread in there to pull it out either.

What about one of those wall anchors that open up after sliding in? Let me see if I can Google a pic. But it has a bolt end, so you can put a bar or something in it and pull, depending on the size of it.

have you tried wrapping a rope around it and pulling, after removing that corner of the plastic lip.

I guess I could drill a hole who are the dent is and thread a rope in there.

maybe a comeAlong will do the job? Or will it just pull the whole car.

If you have the wheels chalked and e brake and in park, it should stay, should not need that much force to pull that forward a little.

It might be easier to just find another bumper at a junkyard?

It it did not take much force. I was able to wrap a cable around the bumper (pic) and with a come along pull it out the few inches I needed.

Once my father tied a cable around a tree and backed up fast in a VW beetle to pull out it's bent front axle several inches. Worked like a charm.
