Cool Questions need answers

Hey guys I'm kinda new to the forum, I purchased my 2000 2dr Blazer ZR2 about 2 months ago and I love it. It's almost as capable as every rig I go off roading with which isn' t a joke cause I'm normally rolling around with jeeps with massive lifts and tires and hummers hah.. Anyways I had a few questions. The original window sticker for the truck says that I have a rear locking diff as part of the factory installed ZR2 package, but when I looked in the owners manual to see how to engage it I see that the switch required to turn it on isn't there... Is there any way to tell if I have a locking diff? And if i do what can I do to lock it besides buying a new button console on my door.. Also on a side note is there any upgrade to the stock tow hooks on the front of the truck? I bent one pulling the hummer out of a nasty obstacle last week and id like to upgrade to stronger ones...

The stock tow hooks can be replaced with d-rings on a special reciever hitch mock up... There is currently a for sale thread in the classifieds with an example... Also I am semi lazy and can tell you to hit up the search button! lol....

As for the locking diff... its a limited slip/locking diff... G80.... it acts as both and has a bad rep in the world of these blazers, although I haven't experienced a problem yet (knock on wood) Many people hate them because they are not as strong as they would like.... Hopefully that helps...

Your rear differential engages automatically if there's more than a 10mph speed difference between the wheels, there is no way to manually engage it.

Yup, that is correct its fully automatic. Also, you can do like stated above the D rings and receiver or up grade to hooks from a heavier truck like I did and installed hooks out of a Tahoe. I will try to snap some pics of the hooks for you.

I took the pictures but I could not get them all to come over from photobucket. I think you can link over off of my signature on my response. Good luck.

Matt, thanks for getting the pic over. Idk why I could not do it tonight . If any body is interested there are more pics and size specs on photobucket. The reason I installed these hooks (thanks cash for clunkers) was from reading a post on here over a year ago about the factory hooks bending and snapping. The Tahoe hooks are 1"x1" vs Blazer approx. 3/4"x3/4".

Hey guys thanks alot. Why does my owners manual show that for the diff I should have a button under the mirror controls that says norm-lock..? That's what I was confused on bu if they work automatically I guess it doesn't matter. Thanks again.
