Quick Blinkers?
So out of nowhere both of my blinkers started clicking on and off extremely fast. I don't have a bulb out anywhere, I even tryed replacing them all, no luck. When I have my headlights on the indicatorarrows on the gauge cluster are like half lit up for some reason too; I am lost... Help?
I have had the same problem and almost everything I have been able to find out points to the Multi-Function switch in the steering column. Mine was replaced once before as part of a recall, never noticed any trouble with the old one though, they just did the work anyway. Just be careful with it mine seemed to have a wisp of smoke come up out of the steering column where the Emergency Flasher switch is. I have found replacements ranging from $110 to $250.
To the original poster, have you tried to correct the problem yet? The rear bulb sockets are known to corrode inside and can be completely disassembled and cleaned (contacts and all) with relative ease. Maybe start there and see what things look like in the back. Once you get them cleaned up, shoot some dielectric grease down into the socket before putting the bulb in to keep things nice and clean in there.
this *might* not apply but I remember in an older Chevy my father had there was a small box shaped fuse under the dash and when it blew thats what it did, made the blinkers REALLY fast even though all of them were working properly. Anyway, might be worth a shot?
the reason they are flashing fast is cuz they are getting more power than normal so its turning the flasher on and off faster so you dont burn it out you just need to find the source of where the extra power is coming from hopefully that helps
