Quick question...

Default Quick question...

Over the summer had my intake manifold gaskets replaced....


After that I noticed what sounded like a vacuum leak from the upper engine area..


Was finally able to really investigate and it looks like its coming the line that goes from the brake booster to the upper manifold.

What is the piece called?? I thought it was the PCV valve but I think I'm mistaken..

Edit: Is the piece on the manifold a check valve? AC Delco P/N 1791266? I'm pretty sure its the grommet that's leaking..

That line is just the vacuum source for the brake booster. Might be able to find the grommet at AutoZone, O'Rielly's, etc on the HELP or Dorman product lines.

Here's hoping the person who did your gaskets didn't crack that plastic fitting or the upper manifold. I usually pull the hose from the booster and just leave it connected to the upper intake.
It just rotates to come off, but why mess with it?
