Default Rattling / grinding sound while accelerating

Hi all

I wasn't quite sure where to post this, so hopefully this is the right place.

I just had to change out the heater core in my 97 Blazer, which was no easy chore. In the process we decided to drain the coolant in the engine block, but ended up opening the wrong drain bolt. It was then concluded (maybe falsely?) that we had drained the transfer case instead. I checked the owner's manual, which said to fill it with Dextron III, so that is exactly what we did. After getting it all back together again, I drove it home and noticed a rattling kind of sound while I accelerated, which stopped while coasting or keeping a constant speed.

Is there anywhere I could find a diagram of the underside of the truck, so I could figure out for sure if it was the transfer case? It is located on the driver's side, near the axle.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same noise. . I assume it's the transfer case, or a heat shield or something weird. I'm hoping to check more into this soon.

I don't know much about cars and I bought this hoping to learn more on fixing them. I am gonna check fluids and possibly change them out but u don't think the transfer case is bad do u? I am hoping not cause I don have slot of $$$$

Whenever I buy a used car, the first thing I do is change all of the fluids and do a tune up. At that time I inspect the condition of the belts and hoses and replace them as needed. Since I just got this car and it appears to have been neglected by the previous owner, I'm not sure what I'm getting into.

The transfer case sometimes needs servicing and from what I read, certain Blazers/Bravadas/Jimmys tend to require more frequent servicing than others for some reason. As a new owner I'm not 100% sure what all entails servicing the transfer case, but I'm hoping to find out on these forums.

I actually have 2 noises. . This one when you take off and another rubbing type noise as I go down the road. Maybe it's the same thing. In any case I'll start out by changing the differential fluid and transfer case fluid and see if that helps. If the truck holds to it's current trend, this will likely not fix the issue, but we'll see, I might get lucky.
