I have a 1999 blazer 4x4. I have taken it to many different mechanics and transmission shops. This ticking sound, which can sometimes sounds like metal clanking, has been a problem for a couple weeks. At first the diagnosis was that there was something wrong in the transfer case, nothing was wrong. Next we found that the sound was definitely coming from the bell housing. The flywheel checked out fine. We even tried replacing the torque converter and the problem was still there. I would think it is a problem with the transmission, but the sound is coming from infront at the bell housing...Any ideas????
