Default Rear license plate light

My 96 seems to have the "plastic piece" the bulb goes in.. missing. The bulb is just hanging there. When I got the truck, it lit, so I think the bulb is out. BUT, I also dont want it to just hang there. Wire and socket seem in tact.

Is there a special piece with the bulb already in I can buy?

Probably be hard to find a good one from that year range in the junk yard... You're best bet is probably going to be to just buy a new one... Not that expensive of a part at least.

Yes.. I may have found one, at a yard. I may as well be buying a Rolls Royce but if it is the right thing, I will have to pay it. I am embarrased to say how much they want for it.

It seems that, on the LMC truck part, I have a functional 1, 2, and 3. It is that thing NOT numbered, that the bulb in the socket seats into, that I need. I even have the screws still in.

Is this it? (It looks to be for a different thing) https://www.summitracing.com/parts/g...BoCupwQAvD_BwE

It is literally THIS PLASTIC PIECE I seek; My light works fine.

I can clearly see it available for after 1998. As they changed the design...

The closest search for NEW so far ended with only 1998 available. https://parts.hendrickgmsouthpoint.c...ght%20Assembly

Looks like you can make it work. It might take a little bit of massaging.
