I did a search on this & if I read things correctly the only way to get the window open to make a repair is to break the inner panel. Is that correct? I have my 98 Blazer 4dr with a split rear hatch. The window opens with the button then you reach inside to lower the gate part. I can hear the actuator working when you push the button, use the button on the dash or key, but the window won't open.

What if you pulled the tailgate hinge pins out and unbolted the helper spring? Could you then lift the glass and door assembly out enough to remove the screws for the inner panel? I haven't tried it, but maybe...
