rear u-joint replacement

I did a search for this and came up with very little to answer my question.
searched "rear u-joint replacement"
so here goes, I need to replace the u-joints on the 96 4x4 blazer (Rear shaft).
I do not see the snap rings that I am used to seeing.
I see the white pins ??
I see a post here that said heat them up.
Can I uses a propane to get it hot enough to get the caps out of the yoke ??
