Default rear wheel bearings

Im getting a "roaring" sound I think on my pass. rear. The diff. fluid is full. It has 189k. I was wondering is there a write-up on how to replace ? Ive done a search and didn't find much info. My Blazer is the 2dr. with rear disc brakes so I guess I have to pull the axle(s).

yeah, if you know how to pull the axles you are pretty much there. the outer seals just pop out with a small pry bar or large screw driver. only tricky part is getting those bearings out. they dont always come out easily ive broken many slide hammer ends trying to get them out. but in theory you should be able to just slid hammer them out and then drive them back in

jack er up in the rear and sit it on some jack stands. have someone get it up to about 45 mph and listen to the rear.

*make sure you are on level ground, and nothing bad in front of you. Dont get under the car or near it. this isnt the ideal thing to do,but if done with common sense you'll be ok. if its 4wd,make sure your in 2wd.

I jacked up the rear and got the rear wheels spinning, im hearing a lil roar on the pass. rear but I mainly hear it when im driving around town. I guess pulling the axles I remove the rear diff cover and remove the c-clips to release the axles and go from there ?

yep,Im not too sure on g80 lockers though

Open your glove box. remove all the crap you have in there lol and look at the sticker with a bunch of 3 letter/digit codes. Look for g80. If its not there,SWEET its like u said it was. easy. if its there,i think theres a lil more to it. Im not sure.

(g80 is a locker system. has clutches and stuff. aka at a low to none speed,if one wheel slips it locks both and both tires spin instead of one. fun for burnouts, but be easy, its not made for torment lol)

I don't think it a locker, one wheel would spin and I had to easily apply the parking brake to get the other wheel to spin...

There should be an 8mm small bolt towards the center pin in the ring gear assembly. Take that out and slide the pin down and out. Push the axles inwards (towards the center of the diff) and take out the c-clips. Then pull axles.

I got the rear tore apart and back together yesterday. I replaced the outer axle bearings and seals with new fluid. I still have the roar so im guessing its the rear end itself. Im trying to decide to keep the truck or drive with the roar, its not bad but noticeable.
