Default rear wiper

i have an 03 zr2 and there is a problem with the rear wiper not moving as it should

first is it supposed to move all the way around the rear window or just do a section?

but heres my actual problem now... the sprayer doesent work, i hit the button and it makes a sound up front but nothing comes out

another problem is the wiper it self wont move, it will try... but cant get past the bottom part of the window and just stays in its cradle thing were it rest when its not on

i tryed pushing it up on the upward stroke like maybe it was just stuck some how but it wont do it it will just slide back down when its suppose to be going up

could it be that maybe its frozen, or the moter just isint warm enough? this is wisconsin so it is preety colled around here

and sry if theres allot of speeling or punctuation errores... just typed it fast

You should have 2 washer pumps in the w/washer resevoir under the hood. Have someone push the button so that you can tell which is for the rear wiper. Then pull off the hose and try to blow through it so you can see if it's plugged or broken ( or loose)
Maybe the pump is making noise but there's no pressure, have someone hit the button with the hose off. ( be quick so you don't lose all your fluid)

Remove the rear wiper arm and turn on the rear wiper to see if the motor is turning the wiper pivot properly, it could be that the arm has slipped out of place on the spines and it needs to be adjusted to the right position.

Let us know.

The rear wiper arm shaft passes through a guide sleeve in the gear box. Over time moisture gets in there and the shaft will seize in the sleeve. I suspect that you have merely loosened the shaft in the sleeve and it will be a temporary fix at best. There is no real good way to get any lubrication down in there between the shaft and the guide sleeve other than taking it apart (which can be done) and polishing the wiper shaft and cleaning the guide sleeve, then re-lubing it and putting it all back together. The whole job takes about 2 hours and it's not that hard.

If the rear wiper motor starts chattering and the wiper arm doesn't move, the motor is working (the plastic gears are slipping on each other) but the wiper shaft has seized. You can grab the wiper arm and "help" it move but again, that's a temporary fix. You'll end up doing it everytime you need to use the rear wiper, until it finally seizes permanently and you'll ned a new gear box.
