Arrow rear wiper getting stuck

Hey does anyone else have the problem that their rear wiper likes to get stuck in between the hatch and the hatchglass? and how do you adjust it. really annoying when it happens.

Thanks

The wiper arm itself is splined onto the drive from the motor. You can remove the nut under the plastic cover and move the arm down lower so that it rests back into the cradle better. You may want to clean the splines out on the drive shaft out of the gate so that it bites in better once reassembled.

I dont see how adjusting it will prevent it being stuck between the hatch glass and the tailgate. I am having the same problem. As it comes off the "perch" i guess you would call it then it falls in that gap.

make sure the hinge on the arm itself can move freely without resistance(mine was seized), if it still gets stuck, bend the arm slightly to fix it.

I had this happen and ran across this post trying to figure it out and finally did, thought what I found might help someone else.

For me it was not the motor/etc. there's no need to bend the arm etc. as long as the arm is trying to move and if you lift it out of where it's stuck it operates fine until it's turned off again, when it will get stuck again. There is a little black plastic "puck" on the rear wiper arm that slots into a plastic cradle on the tailgate when the wiper arm is at rest. This puck gets a groove wore in it over time and it lets the wiper get too close to the tailgate so the wiper then falls into and gets stuck in the gap between the tailgate and window.

Unfortunately Chevy no longer sells the rear wiper arm or this part anymore, so the only option is to find a used take off part that still has a good condition "puck"

Default Wiper Arm is now available

I recently purchased a new wiper arm made by Dorman at O'Reilly auto parts for about $42. It is their part number 42550. I then found a new flanged nut and the rubber cover at Partsoverstock.com (about $6).

Now the question: My car is at my daughter's (a 100 miles away) so I won't be able to look at it closely for a couple weeks. And my potential problem is my new part does not have a spline in the drive end. So I am not sure if it will work since I have not pulled off the old part. Any help will be appreciated.

Photos are attached.
