Remote Start for a 1999 Blazer
I was curious whats involved in installing a remote start in a 1999 chevy blazer. I have been reading about passlock bypass but I have no idea what I actually need to do this. I found a bunch of inexpensive remote starers and I honestly couldn't care less if I have two fobs. I just want it to start the car on the cold mornings. Can someone let me know what I will need to do this? Any help, links and such, would be awesome. Thanks!
I found this thread https://blazerforum.com/forum/2nd-generation-s-series-1995-2005-tech-41/remote-start-what-bypass-kit-module-39987/ and would it be the same for the 98 to 99? im assuming yes. Is this a good place to buy this module, or does anyone have a better place? http://www.caraudio-caralarms.com/dei-555lw.html or here for $14 + $8 shipping. if its right http://cgi.ebay.com/GM-Remote-Start-...16233004r31915

yes, would be the same for the 99 as well. And for the bypass module, thats the right one. Bypass module was easy, for me personaly, to hook up. 6 wires to do it, the 7th one hooks up to you remote start, and 2 are not need (but are for passlock 1, but you have passlock 2).
I was curious does it matter what system I use? I found these cheap ones that would be fine for what I need but I just don't know if they would work properly. Such as:

or

Thanks.

i dont know about these ones, jc whitney links do not work, it just sends us to the home page,(just for future reference), 9 times out of 10 you'll have to leave the key in the bypass if you go with the cheaper one. this tricks the passlock into thinking a key is in the igniton, the 555lw and the more expensive ones are programmed so you dont have to leave a key in the bypass module

Woops well they were the VALIANT RS160 Remote Starter or the RS108 if you go to jcwhitney.com and type in RS108 or RS160.
So pretty much the remote starter doesn't matter because of the bypass?
Thanks for all the help!
