Default Replaced Heater Hose, now no ac

Hello all,
Yesterday, my heater hose split and I ran hot getting home. Not to red, just really warm. I let the engine cool down and replaced the hose and refilled coolant. Today, I went for a test drive to make sure everything was good to go.......now ac does not work [just blows hot air]. The compressor will cut on and off in cycles every 3-4 seconds. I just had the system refilled and checked for leaks 1 month ago and it was good to go, so I don't think I am low on refrigerant. I have tried putting a jumper on the connector to the AC clutch cycling switch [on the silver canister] to keep the compressor on - it will stay on, but still hot air. Possible I bumped an AC line that may have been ready to leak I guess, and pushed it over the edge :/ But is there anything it could be.

Thanks All

When you jumper the compressor does it squeal or make noise?

Go buy a cheap low pressure port gauge and check the pressure in the low pressure port on your A/C also.. see if there is a lack of pressure.

Compressor makes no noise, but there is virtually no pressure in the system when the compressor is running via jumper - I purchased a uv leak test kit and found dye on the back of the compressor (couldn't pinpoint source - may have even been from someone else previous test) and some actually found come on my fan! yet none on front of compressor?? Is this sign of me needing a new compressor you think?

Sounds like a blown rear compressor seal. I would say a new compressor is at least the start of the repair. Make sure to look everywhere along the system to see if you can find more dye.

Thanks for the advice. Anyone know of a good company that sells cheap compressor w/ clutch besides the standard Autozone, Advance, etc.
