Default Replacing Oil Pan

I have a 1996 Blazer that got in an accident and the oil pan was damaged and needs to be replaced. I've read articles and watched videos. There's a number of different approaches including lifting the engine and other desperate measures. I currently have disconnected the CV axles from the inner hubs on both sides. There is enough play on the right side that I have pushed the axle back from the hub and disengaged it. The left side is a bit tighter but I believe I can pull if free from the differential once I disconnect the differential brackets and start moving it a bit. I'm just checking with anyone here who has actually replaced their oil pan to see if they have any words of wisdom or caution. Thanks in advance.

I had the same thing happen to my blazer knucklehead hit my parked truck in front of a restaurant and bent the frame trashed the oil pan i bought a jimmy same year and put the engine from the blazer into it because the jimmy engine was grenaded by leaking oil cooler lines nd the blazer engine needed the pan from the jimmy to be whole again did the swap on an engine stand after pulling both motors so i really can't give you any advice on changing it in the truck only that it looked easier to do it out of the truck
