Default Is this the right locker for my truck?

I am planning on purchasing this locker for my truck. It is a 2002 blazer 2 door 2wd. It came from the factory with the g80 code locker. I just want to make sure this will fit before I shell out the cash. Thanks in advance.

I think it would fit, but I'm not sure. If you wait a day or two you will get some help. I'm also sure if you do a search on the site for what diffs will fit, you will most likley get results quicker.

Do you have a 7.5,7.6 ring gear or an 8.5?

if you have a 7.5, 7.6 this is the locker you want https://www.ringpinion.com/b2c/Produ...ker&Source=Wiz

The one you have shown is for the 7.6 if that's what you have but it's also a true ratchet locker, so it's a "normally locked" locker.... also for $500+ you're ONLY getting the locker instead of the whole carrier like in the link above.

8.6 is this one https://www.ringpinion.com/b2c/Produ...ker&Source=Wiz

You also have other options if you browse around ringpinion.com there's posi's as well

I believe it is the 7.6. Does the one suggested work in the g80 case or no? Also what would be the benefits of this one vs. The one I posted a link to? Not trying to be difficult, I just don't know much about this topic. Thanks.

The one you posted requires you have the open differential carrier I believe. The housings are the same it's the carrier inside you're changing. The g80 has a different carrier that houses the locking mechanism. The ones I posted replace the entire carrier, you bolt the ring gear to the housing and install it as one unit. The one you posted requires taking the slider gears out of the carrier to install. Also the one you posted being a normally locked ratchet setup will cause a clunky feeling around turns as well as some noise. The ones I posted shouldn't.

I see. Thank you for the help. The one I posted says it's for the govlock. So basically the one you recommend is better because it's more street friendly.

I don't see anywhere where it says it's for the G80 but I'll take your word on it. The ones I posted SHOULD be more street friendly than the one you posted.

Underneath where it says 28 spline. It says govlock. The other one that I found is the same as this except in place of govlock it says open. I could always ask customer support at jegs. But I will probably go with the one you posted. The only thing that makes me lean towards this is the slightly cheaper price and ease of installation. I read a review of it and it says that people with even a limited mechanical background could do it.
