Default Rough Starting - Lost of Power w/AC

Hello,

I've been dealing with issue for a month or so, and I finally have time to deal with it.

Specs:

2001 Chevy Blazer 4.3 6 Cyl
About 110K miles
Recent Tune-up - Plugs, Wires, Cap, Rotor, Air Filter, Oil

Problem:

When starting the Blazer after sitting overnight it will take anywhere from 2-5 times to crank over. After which it runs fine, idles well. Power is not great but acceptable. This condition is not as bad after driving and restarting the Blazer after say 2-8 hours. It may at that time only take 2 times to crank over. While driving on occasion the CEL will come on, but no discerable difference with the engine. I've check the code, and weird thing is for DTC under FAULT is N/A, (no code) with nothing under pending. This has happened twice.

To add to this, if I'm driving with the A/C on and I step on the gas and try to accelerate, the engine just revs and goes no where and again the CEL will come on with no code.

I've never stalled and the engine runs fine at idle.

I've poked through the site and done some searches and there does seem to be so similar threads, but most of the contain codes to work from, mine doesn't.

So if anyone has any ideas or a place to start I would appriacate any help.

Thanks

Peter

Anyone, have any ideas? Just a starting point, since I can't seem to get a code out of the OBD Scanner.

Thanks

Have you cleaned the throttle body (specifically the IAC bore), EGR valve, and/or MAF sensor?

Thanks. I'll do that this weekend.

Any idea why the code is popping up as N/A even though the CEL came on?

there could be a code coming up but your scanner might not be able to read it.

OK, spent yesterday doing the MAF Sensor, EGR Sensor and Throttle Body cleaning.

From a power and acceleration perspective it seems ( only did two test drives) better. Time will tell.

I still have the rough starting issue though. Still take about 5 tries to start in the morning (overnight) and about 2 times after just driving.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Peter
