Default routine but u pros are needed

ok guys and galls..

im still chasing a rough idle. the rpm at idle sits at 6 steady cause i tweaked the idle adjust screw. it feels like a baby misfire but not enough to throw a code...

the tick is still there for two seconds when i start cold then it dissapears (better now that i changed oil and did a flush) but my buddy who had the same tick on his blazer stopped completely because he used 10w-30 with lucas synthetic addative. i used 5w-30 with a conditioner from the flush..

the starting is a lil rough... imma have to record it so u guys can hear it.
the drive is sluggish.. as if when i release the throttle it pulls back.

Things done. oil - new, plug cap n rotor 8 months old acdelco,
wires acdelco - 2 yrs old almost , iac valve new, map sensor new,
throttle body clean, maf very clean, gas is always 93,
fuel spider 1 yr old delphi, fuel filter 8 months old, fuel pump 3 years old ,

should i change up to 10w-30 or leave the 5w in there...
should i slowly bring it back to regular fuel or is the slow burn of the 93 actually causing excessive carbon deposits because i heard 93 dont burn as fast in these engines..

Have you checked fuel pressure and leakdown?
Is the SES light on?
Any DTC's in memory?
Have you checked camshaft retard?
Little white sticker under the hood says not to adjust idle speed, there's a reason
Octane rating higher than 87 is a waste of money and may hurt performance rather than help it. Higher octane burns slower, as a result, all of the fuel is not burned when the piston reaches TDC, thus wasting fuel.
5W30 oil is recommended. Thicker oil, (or adding Lucas) is not recommended. It will increase oil pressure, which is good, to a certain extent, but it will decrease oil volume, and we all know what happens when bearings don't get enough oil

my dude as always your postin with ideas to fix issues is always welcome.. i havent done leakdown test yet. will get a tester this weekend from sears . no ses lights. how do i check for codes in memory. i never threw a code in 4 years (knock on wood).. how do i check camshaft and yes ima retard lol... how do i fix the idle screw now that i screwed that up. ill change the fuel back and should i do it slowly or just change it right up. ill leave the oil 5w-30 but ill change it again in july to get the conditioner out so its pure when i do the lower intake manifold.

thanks again mi amigo

Actron® makes a decent tester. It can be modified to check fuel pump maximum output pressure too.

To check pressure: Key ON, engine OFF, fuel pump running, pressure must be 60psi to 66psi and must remain above 55psi for 10 minutes after the pump shuts off.

Most all scan tools can check DTC's that are in memory but it takes a more expensive one to check history DTC's, camshaft retard, and reset your idle stop screw.

Anytime you're ready to save money, you can switch to 87 octane
