So I was messing around under the hood of the blazer yesterday and I started checking all my fluids. Then i came to my tranny dipstick, went to pull it out and the thing felt like it was stuck. I tugged on it some more and then it started coming out but real rough. I look down and the dipstick is coveredi n rust except the tip where the transmission fluid sits. Also the dipstick tube is covered in rust inside??


What the hell do I do about that? Is it moisture in my transmission? Should i get it flushed? How do i get the rust out of the dipstick tube?

Please help!

 

You say the unit only has 77K? Wow! Anyway a trans service is in order:It can be done at home or by a shop. The difference wil be about $200-choose your poison! $50 at home or...
While the pan is off run a long wire brush through the dipstick tube & flush it too!
