Default Schematic Needed asap

My Blazer: 2000 S10, 4wd 2dr.

my turn signal broke and i have a new signal cam here and the springs but we're having trouble getting the steering column apart. theres this ring in our way and not sure how to get it off... can anyone provide me with a schematic or instructions?? the steering wheel is off (along with airbag) and the cotter pin is out... there is a black ring there, its plastic and wide... says to turn it clockwise or something but wont budge. ideas??

Are you trying to replace pieces of the multifunction switch?? That is what it sounds like when you are talking about signal cam and springs... The instructions I have for replacing the multifunction switch do not detail anything like what you are describing nor do I remember running into anything like this on the s-series columns I have been in... It is possible that I just call things differently... Any chance you can post a picture of what it is?
