I would say just drain and flush the radiator, and check the oil level and make sure it's not actually oil.

Are you still running Dexcool? Air in the system will cause sludge build up. Two courses of action to take.

1. Flush your ENTIRE system and replace with the green stuff.

2. Flush your ENTIRE system and eliminate any air getting into the system (radiator cap is the most common culprit).

I drained the dex cool a while ago and ive been running the green stuff. The oil level is good and not milky and the trans fluid is good too. Im picking up a new radiator this week. I want to completely flush the block out of all the sludge but dont know how. I was told that the oil cooler is inside the radiator and it probably blew up and thats where the sludge came from. Also, because it over heated I'd like to check and make sure I didn't crack a head. How do i do that?
