SES Light blinks?

Please dont blindly replace the distributor. Continue to troubleshoot the problem. If money is tight, you dont want to guess what the problem is and just start replacing parts that probably arent bad.

Im not trying to blindly throw money at it. I just lost my job so I definately dont have money to throw at it.
Im trying to troubleshoot but with no specfic code, except 0300, im leaning towards distributor/distributor gear a lot. Ive read through every post I could find onhere bout that code and a couple members posted that it was fixed after they replaced it. But one more code (thankfully) popped up yesterday morning, 0440 which I do believe is the emission code. Which lead me on a hunt for.evap cans and charcoal cans and such. I did not find my charcoal can at all, I looked at a friends and his was by the battery, I do have a vaccum line by the battery but nothing for it to plug into. So that coukd be a possible cause for the 440 code, or my cat could of been lightly plugged.
I plugged off that vac line, tapped the ends of the cat with a rubber mallet to loosen up any possible clogs and cleared my codes, if I get the 440 code again then ill go deeper for that
When the 300 code comes back ill be back at square 1 trying to figure it out. Everything I coukd think of ive done changed out either wheb I got the truck or during routine maintence.
**Edit**
Just a thought, after looking over the motor, if the timing is off, wouldn't that cause a misfire or even the blinking ses light?

Have you followed the PO0300 troubleshooting guide?
https://blazerforum.com/forum/diagno...4-5-6-a-35153/
The only thing they dont mention in the guide that has cured it for me was a new distributor cap and rotor.
As for you question concerning the timing causing a misfire....In a nutshell i would say no. My opinion.

The cap and rotor... Hmm come to think about it, those havent been changed since july 10th of last year, definately not ac delco. Ill look into those later, pull them off and check them.
How often should those be changed?

I bought a Blazer for $500 that wouldnt start. It back fired through the intake and exhaust so bad it blew the muffler apart. I replaced the ORIGINAL cap and rotor along with plugs and wires. The truck had 225,000 miles on it. I will always replace the cap and rotor with AC Delco after seeing that!

i found the receipts for them, they are both duralast. I also looked at my title and mileage, compared the and i got the truck at 146k, it has 151k now, so i only drove it for 5k. But, while looking through all my receipts, i did find that the plugs I *had* in it were ngk, the ones i have now are temporary autolites.
So in a nutshell, i have all durajunk running my truck instead of acdelco. Wrong brand, possible solution??
Side Note - While watching old videos I have of my truck before and after I did the tune up I did notice in them that the slight hesitation has been there since I did the tune up. Its just gotten progressively worse over the past year.
what does YMMV stand for? Year, Make Model Vehicle?

Duralast made it about 15k miles in the wife's jimmy before I got to know Blazers. It started missing when it was wet out. That was the first clue.
