Default SES Light- code was P1406

Light has been coming on and off for weeks now. The last time it was on I finally had my friend run the code at his work. Came up P1406. It hasn't come on since we cleared the codes, but before we had it cleared, it came on and off anyways. I have a 95 4dr. Anybody know what this is?

P1406 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) position sensor performance.

I'd recommend you clean your EGR valve and supply tube with some EGR sensor safe carbon cleaner and possibly a long 3/4" brass pipe cleaner. Before putting the EGR valve back on, start the engine very breifly. It'll blow all of the junk out of the supply tube. Then get yourself a new gasket, one with the integrated screen and button it all back up.
