Default Shaky mirror

Hello, I have a 98 blazer LT. I know this is a common problem among Blazers, the drivers side mirror shakes while going down the road. Anyways Ive been reading post and most people just replace the mirror assembly. Is there some other alternative? is there a way I can crack the thing open and tighen something up? What exactly gets loose inside the mirror? Its not a real big deal, just kinda annoying.

Default RE: Shaky mirror

Can't say as I have the same problem as you with my Bravada, but I did have this issue with my old Ram. I was able to pop off the outer cover and tighten down the bolts that held the mirror. However, I do not believe that our mirrors have anything like what my Ram had...

I know that to remove the front of the mirror you have to break the glass, so unless the mirror mounting bolts are loose, I don't have a solution other than replacing the whole mirror assembly.
