Default should be an easy question

I have a 2001 blazer 4 wheel drive. everything is original. I am not an expert but any means..very far from that but I know my way around somewhat. I cannot find where to transmission fluid dipstick is on this. My manual says on rear side of engine but do not see it. anyone have any ideas where to start before I go taking things apart?

The transmission dipstick tube is located off the back side of the passenger cylinder head. You will be looking for a red cam-over handle.

Or it will be black with red writing that should say "trans" or "transmission" on it. It sticks up from a tube on the rear passenger side of the engine (or looking at the engine from the front the back left of the engine)

Ifyou have a stick shifted tranny, there isn't a dipstick tube.

If you have an auto tranny the dipstick tube could be hidden by a bunch of hoses/wires. To find it crawl under the truck on the passengers side. Find teh bellhousing on the tranny, look right behind it and you will see a black tube about 1" in diameter. It runs down to teh tranny and up into the engine compartment. There is a bracket holding it to the top tranny bellhousing bolt.
