Does anyone know where the smog pump is located on a 2001 chevy blazer? My check engine light came on and the reading was secondary air injection system malfunction. I took it to the dealership since it was still under warranty and they said the smog pump was bad but it wasn't covered under the warranty so I told them not to touch it. Anybody had any experience with these pumps?

 

It's a common problem and there is atleast one TSB on this issue. Seems the originally installed inlet tube could allow water to be injested into the pump. If the water were allowed to freeze, it would lock up the pump.

The pump is located under the radiator to the passenger side of the oil filter.
