smog pump!

Default smog pump!

is the smog pump suppose to run all the time while vehicle is running or does it come on when needed???? i put it on a toggle switch for temporary until i get power to the connector i just want to know that it wont hurt my truck in any way. and if anyone could help i need to know which hose goes where. the one that has the clamp you dont have to cut off does it go on top or bottom.

It is supposed to come on as requested by the PCM. There should be a short test when the truck is initially turned on and it should then shut off.

does it suck from exhaust or does it suck from the hose going up by the radiator?

The AIR pump (air injection reaction) pulls outside air in through the intake line near the radiator and pushes it into the exhaust.
