New guys has an attitude. We are more respectful here, its a community of people who come here to help each other. Besides, being new here lets see you fix some trucks first. It is customary to let the first responder carry the thread so you can have this one and lets see what you got on the other threads that you have started on. The best resources on this forum have thousands of posts sharing decades of knowledge fixing complex problems. We can always use more knowledge if thats what this is.

Teach a man to fish.... or give him a fish. The value of each is decided by the recipient.

BlueRidgeMark, what you did was respond like a condescending jerk because the post wasn't titled in a way that you thought was appropriate by posting a link to "why thread titles are important" rather than actually be helpful. So, you didn't "teach how to fish or give fish", you just pooped in the pond

i’m not talking about the difference between teaching somebody how to be an ASE certified mechanic with your vast and abundant knowledge versus humbly offering the solution to somebody’s problem. I’m talking about you attacking somebody with wise *** comments because you don’t like their grammar structure or their sentence choices when they have come here and humbly ask for help. There are no fish involved. As I said fix some trucks then we can talk.

And since were quoting Chinese proverbs:

FUN-V: If our new member BRM does not actually help you and you are still working your problem let me know and I will help you. If you have success with the cat project report back so that we can see the outcome.

I had a similar issue with our 2001 Blazer. It seems there is a "pre-catalytic" converter before the main cat (What the hell is a pre-catalytic converter? (in a Marty McFly voice))
What happens is that it breaks off from where it is and jams the exhaust pipe and the exhaust has nowhere to go. Removing the O2 sensors provided an escape for the exhaust.
Now,here's where it gets interesting: You must replace the ENTIRE pipe. From the Y to the rear of the cat is ONE piece. And for the kicker,if you try to buy this part, you have to make sure it's LEGAL in your state,as there is one that is NOT valid/shipped (IIRC) to NY,CT and CA. The other one is valid/shipped for the aforementioned three states. I wound up checking a LOT of vendors until I found one who ships from the Bronx, which told me it's NY legit. I had it shipped to my repair shop, cost $750 (YIKES!) along with the three gaskets to connect it to the exhaust. I bet this is what is happening to you. I believe I found this answer in the forum,,,
